Cold Drawn Steel Pipe

Cold-drawn steel pipe is a kind of steel pipe, which is different from hot-rolled (expanded) pipe. It is made by multi-pass cold-drawing in the course of expanding diameter of blank or raw material tube, and is usually carried out on the single-chain or double-chain cold-drawing machine of 0.5 ~ 100T. Cold-rolled (cold-drawn) steel tubes are divided into general steel tubes, low-and medium-pressure boiler tubes, high-pressure boiler tubes, alloy steel tubes, stainless steel tubes, petroleum cracking tubes, machined tubes, thick-walled tubes, small-diameter tubes and cold-drawn tubes with internal dies, it also includes carbon thin-walled steel pipe, alloy thin-walled steel pipe, stainless thin-walled steel pipe and special-shaped steel pipe. The outer diameter of the cold-drawn tube can reach 6 mm, the wall thickness can reach 0.25 mm, the outer diameter of the thin-walled tube can reach 5 mm, the wall thickness is less than 0.25 mm, the precision and the surface quality are obviously better than those of the hot-rolled (expanded) tube, its diameter and length are subject to certain restrictions.

Cold Drawing, that is, in the case of non-heating metal pipe cold drawing machine to draw long, the advantage is not to be carried out at high temperature, the disadvantage is a large residual stress, and can not draw too long cold drawing can improve the toughness and tensile strength to get better mechanical properties.

The difference between cold drawing and cold drawing: Cold Drawing and cold drawing are two different methods of metal cold working, and they are not the same concept. Cold drawing is a method of drawing a metal material by applying a tension force at both ends; cold drawing is a method of drawing the material through a die hole by applying a pull force at one end of the material, the die bore should be smaller than the diameter of the material. The cold drawing process causes the material to have the extrusion deformation in addition to the drawing deformation, the cold drawing processing generally must carry on in the specialized cold drawing machine. The material processed by cold drawing has better properties than the material processed by cold drawing.
